Introduction
EVAFLEX™ is an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer produced and sold by Dow-Mitsui Polychemicals using technologies from the Dow Chemical Company. Like ELVAX™ from Dow Chemical, EVAFLEX™ is a thermoplastic synthetic resin with outstanding properties for a wide range of applications, and various grades with the most suitable properties are available according to applications.
* ELVAX™ is denotes a trademark of the Dow Chemical Company or its affiliates.
Features
EVAFLEX™ exhibits flexibility and elasticity characteristics. In addition:
- It is flexible and non-toxic without needing a plasticizer.
- It boasts excellent low temperature properties.
- It is highly weather resistant and does not exhibit ozone aging.
- It features excellent properties including tear strength, impact strength and stress cracking resistance.
- Vivid coloring is possible through usual methods, enhancing product value.
- Its low specific gravity helps lighten product weight (at least 30% lighter than rubber or PVC).
- It is transparent with a good exterior look and luster.
Despite all these features, it can be used for various molding applications similar to PE, PP, PVC and similar materials.
Usage detail
EVAFLEX™ is used as a material for the following kinds of products.
