Protection of Personal Information and Specific Personal Information
Dow-Mitsui Polychemicals Co., Ltd. ("the Company," hereinafter) conducts business activities in accordance with its "Declaration of the Personal Information and Specific Personal Information Protection Policy" in order to appropriately safeguard the personal information and specific personal information of the customers, business partners and other parties ("individual" or collectively "individuals," hereafter) who provide such information to the Company.

The Company recognizes that it bears the important social responsibility of appropriately handling and protecting personal information and specific personal information in its business activities, and makes every effort to protect such information in accordance with the following basic policy.

The Company will only use the individual number of an individual (meaning an individual number as defined in the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures) for the following administrative procedures. Specific personal information will not be used beyond the scope of the following purposes of use.
- Administrative affairs related to the preparation of withholding records undertaken by an employer or payer pursuant to the Income Tax Act
- Administrative affairs related to the preparation of withholding records undertaken by an employer or payer pursuant to the Inheritance Tax Act
- Administrative affairs to prepare or provide statutory documents including statements of income from earnings pertaining to financial instrument transactions undertaken by an employer as part of a worker asset formation scheme
- Administrative affairs related to residence tax undertaken by an employer or payer in accordance with local taxation laws
- Administrative affairs pertaining to social insurance undertaken by an employer in accordance with the Health Insurance Act
- Administrative affairs pertaining to pension insurance undertaken by an employer in accordance with the Welfare Pension Insurance Act
- Administrative affairs pertaining to labor insurance undertaken by an employer in accordance with the Employment Insurance Act
- Administrative affairs pertaining to nursing care insurance undertaken by an employer in accordance with the Long-Term Care Insurance Act
- Administrative affairs pertaining to nursing care insurance undertaken by an employer in accordance with the Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance Act
- Administrative affairs related to the attaching of individual numbers to documents in connection with the aforementioned affairs, and all affairs arising in connection with the aforementioned affairs
4. Provision of Personal Information and Specific Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company will not disclose or provide personal information or specific personal information to a third party except in the following cases.

- 3. When the provision is required for protecting human life, body or property and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual

- 7. When the personal information has been obtained for the purpose of provision to a third party, where notification has been provided or made easily accessible as to the purpose, the data items provided, the means of provision and contact details to request cessation of provision

- 1. When specific personal information is provided to the extent necessary to process the purpose of use of specific personal information
- 2. When specific personal information is provided to entirely or partially entrust the handling to another party or is provided in connection with business succession due to mergers or other reasons
- 3. When the provision is required for protecting human life, body or property, and consent of the individual has been obtained, or is difficult to obtain
- 4. Other cases in which the provision of specific personal information to a third party is prescribed according to the provisions of the Individual Number Act
* Individual Number Act refers to the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures.
5. Safe Management of Personal Information and Specific Personal Information
The Company shall establish internal rules related to the protection of personal information and specific personal information, appoint a Personal Information Protection Manager, and promote various measures including the establishment of a management system for the protection of personal information and specific personal information at the Company.
To prevent incidents including the leak, loss, damage or unauthorized access of personal information and specific personal information, the Company will do its utmost to engage in necessary and appropriate safety management in accordance with internal rules, and periodically monitor the status of those activities.
In addition, the Company will provide training on the appropriate handling of personal information and specific personal information to its officers, employees and other personnel.
6. Inquiries, Disclosure, Correction, etc. Regarding Personal Information and Specific Personal Information
The Company will respond promptly to inquiries from individuals or requests concerning disclosure, correction, etc. with regard to the personal information or specific personal information it possesses.
